Synopsis
A long-standing Taiwanese legend, recorded in the ancient Chinese book Shan Hai Jing, tells of mountain demons that exploit human greed and weakness, luring people into the mountains and planting them like trees. Ah-Wei, a real estate agent living with his grandmother, is focused on his career and marrying his girlfriend, Yi-Jun.
One day, his grandmother mysteriously disappears—or perhaps not entirely. Chores are still done, and meals are prepared, yet his grandmother is nowhere to be seen. Ah-Wei and Yi-Jun search for her in vain, and Ah-Wei slowly begins to break down.
Seven days later, he hears his grandmother calling him, only to encounter a red-clothed girl who covers his eyes. Ah-Wei also vanishes, and Yi-Jun senses that something is living in his place. The next day, his grandmother returns unharmed but driven mad. Yi-Jun soon discovers that all of this is tied to the legend of the "Red-Clothed Girl." She ventures deep into the mountains to find Ah-Wei, uncovering the most terrifying truth...
