Synopsis
Social worker Li Shufen is overwhelmed with work and neglects her 15-year-old daughter, Li Yating. When she discovers Yating is pregnant, she insists on an abortion, leading to a heated conflict. That same day, Shufen visits her case, Lin Meihua, whose house is covered in talismans, and rescues a child, Lin Yongqing, also covered in talismans. Later, Shufen finds Yating missing after school and seeks out her boyfriend, Lin Junkai. Junkai, a spirit medium for the Tiger Lord, claims mountain spirits took Yating. Shufen doesn't believe him and organizes a search party, while Junkai carries the Tiger Lord's sedan chair to look for Yating. The search party fails to find Yating, but they discover Shen Yijun, about to give birth, in an abandoned hospital.
Yijun collapses upon realizing her grandmother and He Zhiwei have already died. Shufen tries to get information about Yating from Yijun but has yet to be successful. As the critical 72-hour rescue window closes, Lin Meihua appears, claiming she knows Yating's whereabouts. Three mothers, driven by love for their children, enter the red forest.
Ultimately, Shufen uncovers that everything stems from the mystery of the Red-Clothed Girl's past, where fear is intertwined with love.
